Nominations open for Keyano College Distinguished Alumni award

Author: Greg Bennett/Tuesday, February 12, 2019/Categories: Keyano College General

Nominations for the 2019 Keyano College Distinguished Alumni award are now open. Alumnus, faculty, communitymembers, and partners of the college are encouraged to nominate a deserving former student to receive this coveted award.

Kendal Netmaker, one of Canada’s leading entrepreneurs and speakers, was the recipient of the award in 2018. Kendal became a Keyano College student after receiving an offer to join the Huskies Men’s Volleyball team, playing two seasons with the Huskies. He would later launch Neechie Gear—a lifestyle apparel brand that empowers youth through sports. A portion of profits helps fund underprivileged youth to take part in sports.

Kendal said of his time at Keyano, "The best investment you can make, is in yourself. Your education and self-awareness is key to succeeding in life. I had a blast at Keyano College and was a proud member of the Men’s Volleyball Team, and will always cherish those memories!"

The chosen 2019 Award winner will join other distinguished alumni on Keyano’s wall of fame and will be a special guest speaker at this year’s convocation in May.

For more information, or to nominate a former Keyano student, visit www.keyano.ca/Alumni/DistinguishedAlumni where the criteria and information to submit can be found. The deadline for entries is March 8, 2019.
