In extra time, it would be NAIT who carried their momentum forward completing the comeback and defeating Keyano 87-85.

When asked about the game Ooks head coach, Mike Connolly said: "We need to play better defense still, but we hung around and gave ourselves a chance to win."

ACAC Game Report

The NAIT Ooks men's basketball team fell to the Keyano Huskies 76-71 Friday night in the NAIT Gymnasium.

The Ooks trailed early and found themselves playing catch up for the majority of the game. The Keyano Huskies capitalized on some key mistakes by NAIT throughout the course of the game. In the fourth quarter, the Ooks tried to battle back only to have the game taken from them as Dante Dinter made a late three-pointer to solidify the Huskie victory.

"We made mental mistakes throughout the game which ended up costing us, we leave a shooter open that we shouldn't which resulted in a three-pointer icing the game. As bad as we played we still grinded it out and had a chance to win, so hopefully we can build on that for tomorrow, " said NAIT head coach, Mike Connolly following the game.

The Keyano Huskies clawed back late to defeat the NAIT Ooks 53-51 in ACAC women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.

After getting out to an early lead, NAIT was unable to fend off Keyano in the second half as the Huskies outscored the Ooks in both quarters. It was a late three-pointer by Sarah MacDonald of the Huskies that would tie the game. Two free throws by Augusta Kievisaite would find the Huskies on top 53-51 at the final buzzer.

When asked about the game Ooks head coach, Todd Warnick said: "Keyano played a much more physical game than us today, we were unable to respond to their level of aggression."

Keyano Huskies 51 NAIT Ooks 73

Sydney Hurlburt and Allie Hunder dropped 17 points each as the NAIT Ooks women's basketball team defeated the Keyano Huskies 73-51 Friday night in the NAIT Gymnasium.

The NAIT Ooks came out firing to start the game, as they outscored the visiting Keyano Huskies 26-10 in the opening quarter. The Huskies slowed the bleeding in what would be a defensive second quarter, as the Ooks would only outscore the Huskies 9-7.

With a 35-17 lead to begin the second half, NAIT would once again step on the gas putting up 22 points to Keyano's 6. The Huskies would try to battle back in the fourth outscoring the Ooks 28-16, but the deficit would be too big to overcome, as they fell 73-51.

"We played solid defense and we shared the ball well. We had contributions from our entire lineup, our veterans continued to be consistent for us, while our younger players stepped up as well. They had two key players not show up until the second half due to school, which changed things a bit in the second half. Tomorrow we will have put in another good performance to come away with the win," said NAIT head coach, Todd Warnick following the game.
