Enrolment numbers are on the rise, and Keyano College is happy to report an impressive 22 percent increase!
Ann Everatt, Vice President, Academic at the College reported on an enrolment growth of 296 students from September 2008 to September 2009 during the Board of Governors meeting on September 23.
"When we factor in students who will be enrolling later this fall and into January 2010, it is quite possible that we could be looking at an additional increase of 300 students," Everatt said.
"Kudos to the Office of the Registrar, faculty and chairs who got together and made calls to every student who had applied or inquired about the College," Everatt enthused. "That personal attention made a tremendous impact."
Significant growth was seen in the areas of: Environment Technology, which quickly capped and accommodations were made for additional students; University Studies - Sciences as well as Business Administration and Nursing saw an approximate growth in enrolment of 30 per cent.
"This is a great news story," said John Wilson, Chair Keyano College Board of Governors.
Everatt added "We are delighted to be able to serve more students and continue to focus on assisting them achieve success."
Everatt said the College is looking into future developmental opportunities in Environmental, Health Sciences, Trades & Technology, as well as professional accreditations for continuing education.
"We are also working diligently to provide our students with greater opportunities to study in a web-based and blended format," Everatt explained.
A Strategic Enrolment Management Committee has also been created with representation from across the College to look at enrolment trends, recruitment marketing strategies and the student experience from first contact to graduation to becoming an active alumnus.
