Contract Procurement & Design

Every company requires a Procurement Specialist to secure purchases, negotiate contracts with vendors and implement cost-reducing methods. Course content follows the contract process from initiation to tendering with a focus on the buyer’s perspective by exploring when to use contracts and which type of contract to use. Key topics include preparing a business case, stakeholder evaluation, and developing a request for quotation.

Contract Negotiation & Administration

Administering a contract once it’s in place is a critical part of contracting. This course takes participants through the complexities of contract negotiations and administration. It identifies how to make the contract a success for both parties and how to avoid disputes and litigation.

Estimating & Competitive Bidding

A Contract Specialist with the skills and knowledge to estimate and submit a competitive bid is a valued asset to any organization. This course details the steps in identifying opportunities, estimating, submitting and following up on a bid from the contractor’s perspective. Course content explores the basics of costing, the bidding process and ethical considerations.

Principles of Contract Law

39 Hours Blended Learning
Managing, interpreting and understanding legal documents are critical responsibilities in many industries. This course prepares professionals for those tasks by exploring the essentials of contract law. Course content includes the legal system, construction contract law, interpreting documents, insurance, bonding, warranties and guarantees, contract terms and conditions, the litigation process, and implications of national, provincial and municipal codes, by-laws, acts and regulations.

Qualifies for 6 Special Industry Course credits towards Gold Seal Certification.
