Campus Development Master Plan

Campus Development Master Plan - 2005

Keyano College, together with a planning consultant (Stantec Consulting Ltd.), prepared the Campus Development Master Plan in 2005. This plan assessed the manner in which the College facilities served the needs of its constituents, and how the College might meet future facilities' needs. This Plan also assessed how each of its locations is positioned geographically and strategically to meet growth in the community and the projected shifts in the demographics over the following 25 years.

The purpose of this Plan is to ensure that decisions for Campus Development activities are guided by the educational vision, core values, and guiding philosophy. Through the office of the Vice President of Finance & Administration, there was a series of site visits, tours, and departmental/town-hall style meetings. Stakeholders also had the ability to access key documents and provide feedback directly to the Steering Committee.

The assistance and support of the Keyano community is the key to the success of the Campus Development Master Plan. Meetings held between the Master Plan Steering Committee and Stakeholder Group, the Consultant, and the entire College community led to a successful plan for Keyano College's future.

Stantec Consulting Ltd. was selected as the planning consultant. Stantec has 50 years of history in providing professional design and consulting services in planning, engineering, architecture, surveying, and project management.

The initial site visit was held on Thursday, September 2, 2004. At that time, the consultants met with College management and toured the facilities. There were additional site visits and subsequent project work culminating in a preliminary report to the College Board of Governors in November 2004, and then a final report in January 2005.
