Program Structure

During the theory portion of the course students will successfully complete training on OH&S Regulations, Alberta Mine Safety Association Certification, mining operations, fatigue management, resume preparation, radio etiquette and communication.  Students will participate in a ride along or site tour during the course.  The computer based portion of the course are completed with instructor resources available for support.  Students will successfully complete the following CBT modules:

Students will utilize simulators for the practical portion of their course, they are based on Caterpillar 797 and Komatsu 930e mining trucks.  Students will successfully complete exercises and emergency responses during their 20 -25 hours of simulator time (dependent on class size).  Instructors provide weekly reviews and progress reports.
