Vice President, Academic
On June 1, 2017, Dr. Brenda Sautner joined Keyano College as our Vice President, Academic. Brenda has a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration and Leadership from the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Alberta.
Like many of us in senior positions, Brenda spent the first ten years of her career in the classroom before heading up the Safe and Caring Schools Initiative under the Minister of Education, a program that received Premier’s Recognition. Post her term in Edmonton, she held a number of senior positions in various school districts. Brenda has also been a sessional instructor with the University of Calgary’s Werlund School of Graduation Education.
During her seven years as Associate Superintendent for Fort McMurray Public School District, she has fostered academic excellence in teaching and learning, program evaluation and policy development to ensure successful outcomes for students. Her expertise in strategic planning, budget development and analysis as well as her experience with systems thinking, relationship building and stewardship will be instrumental in helping us in considering new programs and research initiatives.
