The Minister of Advanced Education is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving as Chair of the Board of Governors of Keyano College.

Keyano College is a public, board-governed college operating as a Comprehensive Community Institution under the authority of the Post-secondary Learning Act. Keyano College, now in its 50th year, offers a diverse program mix including certificates, diplomas, university transfer, apprenticeship, academic upgrading, and through collaboration with other post-secondary institutions, degree completion options. Keyano College’s comprehensive program offerings include arts, health, engineering technologies, human services, humanities, trades, transportation, heavy equipment operations, and industrial training. Through innovative program delivery options such as the Heavy Equipment Mobile Simulators, Keyano College is able to offer training in remote northern communities, providing students the opportunity to avail of economically viable post-secondary training while remaining in their home communities.

About the Department


The Facilities Department offers a wide range of facilities-related services. Our primary role is to provide safe and comfortable learning/work environments for the College community.

A diverse set of work skills are essential to providing services for the over 700 acres of land supporting approximately 70,000 gross square metres of building space.

Functional Areas

Facilities Management reports to the Vice-President, Finance & Administration, and is responsible for providing support services at the campus level of the College.

What Is Facilities Management?

Facilities management is the practice of coordinating the physical workplace with the people and work of the organization; it integrates principles of business administration, architecture and the behavioral and engineering sciences. Facilities management combines management practices with the most current technical knowledge to provide humane and effective work environments. The Facilities Director's role is as a generalist managing teams of specialists (architects, engineers, designers, technicians, etc.) to plan, provide, and manage a productive work environment.
