The Keyano College Gala is now in its 37th year and remains the stand-out black tie event of the Fort McMurray social calendar where local business and community come together for a night of live entertainment and great food.

We are thrilled to announce our feature performer is Canadian rock band, The Trews! Since the band’s formation in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, The Trews have released five albums, with two achieving Canadian Gold Sales status. From those albums came thirteen Top-10 singles, including their first number one hit “Not Ready to Go.” They also touched hearts across the country with their single “Highway of Heroes,” inspired by the 2006 death of former schoolmate, Captain Nichola Goddard – the first Canadian female soldier killed in Afghanistan. Net proceeds from the song go to the Canadian Hero Fund, an organization helping families of Canadian military personnel through academic scholarships.

At Gala 2018, revelers can expect to hear fan favourites as well as some exciting new songs from the The Trew’s new album Civilianaires, with two singles “Vintage Love” and “The New Us” already released earlier this year.

By supporting Keyano College we are able to strengthen our programming and to provide opportunities to people to pursue higher education who might not otherwise be able to.

The funds raised from this event help to support program funding, athletics, theatre, trades capital improvements, and create Student Awards, all of which have the ability enrich people’s lives through education.
